- Thank you for the heads-up: the name of the language is now corrected. Furthermore, I've made some preparations to ease your future translations. I created this page as a subpage of my own user page. There you can edit the tables directly, replacing the dashes in the Polish columns with your translations. You can translate as many of the phrases as you want at any given time. Also, you don't have to transfer your translations to any other page, and it will be easy for me to add them to the "proper", write-protected pages listed in
Wikispecies:Localizationwhich are used by the server. As an extra benefit I have all my user pages in my watchlist and will be automatically noted when you make a contribution, so you don't have to tell me about your progress unless you want to or have a question, which of course is fine. - If you come across an English word that can't be translated, please replace the dash with
N/Aor similar so I know that word is not available. For example there is no Swedish translation for the English word "mammalogist" (i.e. a scientist studying mammals), and perhaps there are Polish equivalents as well.

ISO 3166-1

- The "country names" in template nadi are not always strictly identical with political countries, instead they refer to "continental and regional codes", as defined and standardized in Brummit et al., see also en:World Geographical Scheme for Recording Plant Distributions. (The Centaurea example above does not use them correctly, see Ochna pumila for a better example. E.g., the code "Palestine" includes Israel (PAL-IS) and Jordan (PAL-JO). Those list of standard codes are probably also at wikidata. --Thiotrix (talk) 06:50, 12 October 2018 (UTC)
- @Koavf and Thiotrix:I think it's nothing against anything. Even these established terms may have their translation template as well as the separate terms "west", "Asia", "east", "Europe" etc... Political affairs really have no room here at all. So if it was perhaps necessary to write a place of occurrence in politically controversial territory, I recommend using the non-controversial designation of the territory. But if you really think that it is necessary to translate those terms for "botanical continents", "botanical regions", and "botanical countries", please see at en:List of codes used in the World Geographical Scheme for Recording Plant Distributions. Here at Wikispecies, we use level 1 (9 items), level 2 (52 items), and level 3 (several hundred items). This would be a large translation table...
