Name

[edit]
  • Xenocalliphora eudyptis (Hutton, 1902)
    • Original combination: Calliphora eudypti
    • Primary type: lectotype
      • Fixation: designated by Dear (1986: 52)
      • Description: [adult] male
      • Repository: CMNZ
    • Type locality: 'Snares' - Dear (1986: 52, quoting label of lectotype)
    • Secondary types: paralectotypes (7)
      • Fixation: designated by Dear (1986: 52)
      • Description: 5 [adult] females, 2 [adult] males
      • Repositories: BMNH, CMNZ
      • Identities: two female paralectotypes (from Campbell Island, in BMNH and CMNZ) are Xenocalliphora viridiventris, and are the type series of this nominal species

Synonyms

[edit]
  • Calliphora huttoni Miller, 1950
    • new replacement name for Calliphora eudypti Hutton, 1902 [probably based on the incorrect view that a mixed type series requires new names for each of the constituent species, and not based on the view that Calliphora eudypti is a junior homonym, which it isn't]
