Type species: Neocheritra nisibis de Nicéville, 1895: 316, pl. P, fig. 45. Designated by Cowan, 1966: 254 = Sithon scopula Druce, 1873: 352. See also ICZN Opinion 894.

(Note: See comments on Hypolycaena cloella Weymer, 1887 in Cowan, 1966, treated as part of this revised lineage, but elsewhere treated as junior subjective synonym of Manto hypoleuca inopinata (Butler, 1883) after Takanami, 1989: 32 [No.69] designating a lectotype and paralectotype. Action contra his Thrix scopula elioti Takanami, 1989: 69 [based on "Thrix scopula cloella auctorum", e.g. per D'Abrera, 1986: 606]).
