Name
[edit]Gender: Masculine. (Derived from tormon (τορμου), the genitive of the masculine Greek noun for "socket") [Note: Syntormon was originally treated as masculine by Loew, but some authors such as Drake (2020) treat Syntormon as neuter because it has the Greek neuter ending "-on".]
Type species: Rhaphium metathesis Loew, 1857, by subsequent designation by Coquillett (1910): 611.
