- Holotype: NMSA, ♀, 23—24.ii.1980 Londt / & Schoeman Bushveld / veget. & old lands.
- Type locality: SOUTH AFRICA: Transvaal / 6 km N of Vivo 2229CC.
- Etymology: From Greek trichos f. (hair) andpteron n. (wing). In reference to the almost entirely microtrichose wing membranes possessed by this species.
