Holotype: ZSM, ♂, 3.iii.2007, 05.16.096S 144.27.869E, Kinibel (PNG 142).
Type locality: PAPUA NEW GUINEA: Western Highlands Province, Kundum, 05°16.10'S; 144°27.87'E.
Etymology: The species is named after Jimi River, in the area in which it was collected.
