Welcome to Wikispecies!

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikispecies! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might like to see:

  • Help:Contents provides a good introduction to editing Wikispecies.
  • Templates are there to help you following syntax and formatting rules.

You are welcome to continue editing without logging in, but you may want to consider creating an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits such as the ability to create articles. If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.

If you have named a taxon, then it is likely that there is (or will be) a Wikispecies page about you, and other pages about your published papers. Please see our advice and guidance for taxon authors.

In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here. Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, ask me on my talk page, or ask in the Village Pump. Again, welcome!

Vernacular names

[edit]

Hello. Please note that as described in the Help:Vernacular names section guideline we should only use one vernacular name per taxon and language. For the Varroa destructor page I have opted for "Kleštík včelí" as the Czech name, since it is the one used for cs:Kleštík včelí i.e. the Czech Wikipedia page about the species. Best regards, Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 21:58, 11 September 2019 (UTC).Reply

"Kleštík včelí" - this is only the title of the article, read more: kleštík zhoubný (Kůrka 2005) or kleštík včelí (Přidal 2006). Czech language is an exception...
Thank you for your reply. Please see Talk:Varroa destructor for further discussions. –Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 17:07, 16 September 2019 (UTC).Reply

This is the discussion page for an anonymous user who has not created an account yet or who does not use it. We therefore have to use the numerical IP address to identify him/her. Such an IP address can be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user and feel that irrelevant comments have been directed at you, please create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users.
