Name[edit]

Holotype: BMNH 1842.10.7.1, dry skin and skull.

Type locality: “Marshy places, from Hudson's Bay to the Rocky Mountains”.

Synonyms[edit]

  • Sorex palustris hydrobadistes Jackson, 1926: 57 [synonymized by Hope, Panter, Cook, Talbot & Nagorsen (2014: 730)]

Holotype: USNM 229.061, adult ♂, skin and skull, collected by Hartley H.T. Jackson on 3 July 1918.

Type locality: “Whitee, Clark County, Wisconsin”.
