Rhinolophus lobatus Peters, 1852: 41

Syntypes (4): ZMB 375, ♀, skin only; ZMB 2496, ♀, body in alcohol with skull extracted; ZMB 24922, ♂, complete skeleton; and ZMB 24927, ♀, complete skeleton.

Type locality: “Africa orientalis, Sena, Tette, 17º Lat. Aust.”, restricted to “Sena”, south bank of Zambesi River, Sena District, Mozambique, by Moreau, Hopkins & Hayman (1946: 399).
