Quentalia surynorta
[edit]
Taxonavigation: Bombycoidea |
---|
Superregnum: Eukaryota |
Familia: Bombycidae
Subfamilia: Epiinae
Genus: Quentalia
Species: Quentalia surynorta
Name[edit]
Quentalia surynorta (Schaus, 1900)
Type locality: Mexico, Jalapa
Holotype: Male syntype n° 11480 USNM. male genitalia slide #4 (11.IX.1940).
Note: Schaus, 1929 in Seitz says there are 35 males in USNM collection that may represernt several species when genitalia are examined. At that stage, only one male genitalia had been prepared, being the above syntype. Original description provides first the description under a female symbol, although later saying the female is similar to male but usually reddish brown. It seems that a female symbol was placed meanwhile it should have been a male symbol instead (printing error?).
Synonyms[edit]
Carthara surynorta Schaus, 1900 (original combination)
