Type locality: “Spitchweek, near forest of Dartmoor” Devonshire, England, redefined by neotype designation as “Chew Valley Lake, Bath and North East Somersert, south west England (51º 22' N, 02º 37' W)” by Jones & Barratt (1999: 184); Opinion 2028: 85.

Placed on the Official List of Specific Names in Zoology (Opinion 2028).

Lectotype: MNCN 1074, adult ♂, body in alcohol with skull extracted. [designated by Ibáñez & Fernández (1989: 40)]

Type locality: “Valencia, Alicante, Albacete?, Ciudad Real”, restricted to “Valencia”, Spain by Ibáñez & Fernández (1989: 40).

Paralectotype: MNCN 1073 ♀, body in alcohol with skull missing; MNCN 1075 ♂, body in alcohol with skull extracted. [designated by Ibáñez & Fernández (1989: 40)]
