- Type locality: TAIWAN: Taoyuan Hsien, Takuanshan [= Lala Shan; 24°45′N, 121°25′E] For. 1650 m.
- Holotype: Volker Assing private collection, ♂, 17.IV.90 A. SMETANA.
- Etymology: The specific epithet (Latin, adjective: with three hooks) alludes to the shapes of the three internal spines of the aedeagus.
