- Type locality: CHINA: Guangxi Province, Xingan County, Hujiang Xiang, Mountain Mao'er (25.91, 110.45) 1,715 m.
- Holotype: Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IZCAS), ♂, 26-VI-2004, leg. Teiji Sota and Runzhi Huang.
- Etymology: The name of the new species is from the latinization of the Greek word for symmetrical. It refers to its symmetrical parameres.
- Status: invalid [syn. of Paederus parvidenticulatus syn. Li, Solodovnikov & Zhou 2014: 435]
