- Type locality: CHINA: Hubei Province, Xingshan, Longmen River 1,340 m.
- Holotype: Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IZCAS), ♂, 3-VI-1993, leg. Runzhi Huang.
- Etymology: The species name is derived from the Latin words sinister (turned left) and obliquus (oblique). It refers to the shape of the dorsal plate of the aedeagus that is oblique and turned left in this species.
