  • Type locality: SOUTH AFRICA, [Mpumalanga]: E. Transvaal, Mariepskop, 24.35S–30.50E, sifting indigenous forest.
  • Holotype: DNMNH # 1785, ♂, 6.v.1981, Endrödy-Younga.
  • Etymology: Named after the shape of the median lobe, which resembles three lancets of different shape (Lat. trihastatus = having three lancets).
