Main characters[edit]

Body black with reach, variable red pattern; red: scapus and flagellum to apical third; head with exception of black lateral fields of face, antennal cavities and vertex, collar of pronotum, tegulae, sometimes spots on mesonotum; abdomen red with darkened base of tergites 3-4, sometimes tergite 2. Scutellum yellow. Legs, with exception of coxae, red.

Females hibernate as adult.
