Name[edit]

Lectotype: BMNH 81.9.7.25, adult ♂, skin and skull. [designated by Thomas (1927: 548)]

Type locality: “Huambo— a plantation in the forest of the same name, to the east of Chachapoyas and Chirinoto, 3700 feet in altitude, on the banks of the river Huambo, a tributary of the Huallaga,” specified to approximately 1127 m, 6º34’S, 77º22.5’W, Huambo, Chachapoyas, Amazonas, Peru by Hurtado & Pacheco (2017: 413).
