Type locality: PARAGUAY: Presidente Hayes: Lolita (Laguna Yaragui, 59°37'W, 23°05'S).

Holotype: MZSP, I.2005, U. Drechsel col.

Etymology: Latin, bi = two; maculatus = spotted. Relating to the two spots on elytra.
