Type locality: "East Indies" [THAILAND. Bangkok, undoubtedly from a cultivated plant (vide Chamchumroon 2006)].

General distribution range given by Chamchumroon (2006) is as follows: India, Indo-China (including Thailand). He remarks this species is used as an ornamental flowering shrub so frequently that the range may not be natural one.
