- Holotype: ESUW, ♀, IV/1987, Col. W. Eberhard.
- Type locality: COSTA RICA: San Jose, San Antonio de Escazu, 1300.
- Etymology: The specific name is from the Latin longius, meaning longer, in reference to the fore wing vein r being longer than vein 3RSa.
