- Holotype: ESUW, ♀, June 1995; P. Hanson.
- Type locality: COSTA RICA: San Jose; Cerro de la Muerte; 2km W Empalme; 2300m.
- Etymology: named after the American entomologist A. B. Gahan, who described many New World Braconidae in the early 1900s.
