- Type locality: AUSTRALIA: NSW, Nadgee, coll. Austr. Mus. & TTM, N° 1176, Nadgee Nature reserve (37°22’S, 149°55’E).
- Holotype: AM, ♂, 24.V.1978, G. Gowing.
- Etymology: The species takes its name from the toponym Nadgee.
