Substrate and ecology: Usually on nutrient-rich bark of mature trees, mostly Acer, Ulmus and Fraxinus, but also Quercus or Salix; sometimes on wood
World distribution: Probably circum-boreal-temperate in the Northen Hemisphere, in Europe, Greenland and North America
