Gigantocypris G. W. Müller, 1895

Status: valid genus
Type species: Gigantocypris agassizii G. W. Müller, 1895 (subsequently formally designated by Sylvester-Bradley, 1961). But, already in G. W. Müller 1895 on page 155 within the first paragraph it was said that the description of the new genus Gigantocypris is based on the more frequent new species Gigantocypris agassizii.
Remarks: All citations of Skogsberg 1920 as author of Gigantocypris are wrong.
