- Type locality: NEW GUINEA: Wau, Golden Ridge.
- Holotype: HNHM, ♂, 3.IX.1968, leg. Dr. J. Balogh (N° NG-W-B. 66).
- Etymology: The name of the new species derives from that of the New Guinea.
