  • Type locality: CANADA: Saskatchewan, Royal Edward Rd., 25 km NW Maple Creek.
  • Holotype: LFC, ♂, 5-VI-2011, D. Larson.
  • Etymology: Derived from Latin adjective simulans-, meaning imitating, in reference to its similarity to the closely related Dochmonota websteri.
