Choristoneura heliaspis (Meyrick, 1909)

Type locality: South Africa, KwaZulu-Natal, Durban.

Typus: Lectotype female ♀. ISAM 27.XII.1902. leg. G.F. Leigh. (lectotype designated by Razowski & Krüger, 2013: 215.

Synonyms

  • Cacoecia heliaspis Meyrick, 1909: 349Protonym (see also ♂ 368 plus comment on C. occidentalis Wals.)
  • Archips heliaspis (Meyrick, 1909); after synonymy of Cacoecia under Archips in Fernald, 1908: 14; explicit in Brown, 2005, but as junior synonym of recombined Archips occidentalis (Walsingham, 1891).
  • Choristoneura heliaspis (Meyrick, 1909): 247; Razowski, 2008: 247). Comb. nov. (See also Razowski & Krüger, 2013: 215, with mention Brown's (2005) proposed synonomy under header but no recognition of its nomenclatural consequences through seniority).

See also "Cacoecia heliastis" in Pinhey, 1975 (Moths of southern Africa: 37, no type), which may be an unavailable misspelling.
