Holotype: CG, ♂, 12.–13.III.2007, R. GRIMM.
Type locality: BORNEO: Malaysia, Sabah, Sepilok.
Etymology: Gnitus (ancient Lat.) from gnoscere, gnovi = mysterious, concealed.
