Synonyms
[edit]- Thais cerisyi Godart, 1823 ["1822"]: 234, Pl. 20, f. 3-4; See also e.g. Fruhstorfer, 1906: 160; Seitz, [1906]: 17; Rothschild, 1918: 71 (Else see e.g. Bryk, 1934; Bernardi, 1970; Eisner & Wagener, 1974; Eisner, 1974; Olivier, 1991, not linked here)
(Note: in Mém. Soc. Linn. Paris, the relevant plates may not exist. See arguments in Cowan 1969 that this "Volume 2, of 1823" is unpublished, restated in Cowan 1970 as "was never published. Only a proof copy is known, which contains no plates..." (p.17). As of 2026, an online BHL-copy includes introductory notes stating it was obtained for the NHMUK in 1969 from archives of the MNHN, plus ink stamps from both institutes. This may be viewed as a photocopy of the claimed "proof copy". According to Taymans & Cuvelier, 2025(a/b), a comment in Koçak, 1981 confirms that author [and Dr. G. Bernardi] had together viewed a copy in MNHN, inline with the above. However as also noted by Taymans & Cuvelier, 2025(a/b), an(other) online copy attributed to the Bibliothèque nationale de France is also available (as of 2026), but instead ink stamped as Bibliothèque Royale, plus cover page. Therefore, the work appears to fit the criteria for a published work according to ICZN article 8.1, including amendment 8.1.3.1 (i.e. originally - numerous identical and durable copies) and consequently nomenclatural availability.
- Thais cerisy Godart, 1824: 9(2): 812
(Note: in Enc. Méth., where t.9(pt.2) is arguably dated 1819 per cover date of the whole Tome (i.e. "MDCCCXIX"). Yet importantly, see Evenhuis, 2003: 36, Appendix III, where corresponding Livraison 95 is dated as "17 July 1824". This later date is consistent with the existence of a citation to the (prior) work Mem. Soc. L. (i.e. Godart 1823 ["1822"]) is stated in Godart, [1824] indicating priority. See also the ordering and variant dates given in Stichel, 1907: 8).
