Welcome to Wikispecies!

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikispecies! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might like to see:

If you have named a taxon, then it is likely that there is (or will be) a Wikispecies page about you, and other pages about your published papers. Please see our advice and guidance for taxon authors.

If you have useful images to contribute to Wikispecies, please upload them at Wikimedia Commons. This is also true for video or audio files containing bird songs, whale vocalization, etc.

Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your username (if you're logged in) and the date. Please also read the Wikispecies policy What Wikispecies is not. If you need help, ask me on my talk page, or in the Village Pump. Again, welcome! -- Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 12:17, 21 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello and thank you for greetings! I already made a few edits and I hope they're useful. At least they'll be useful for me :-D I have a lot of questions and, I think, the first one will be about literature. For example there is an entomologist page Sergey Ivanovich Medvedev with a list of his works. But titles was transliterated from Russian. How should they be? In original (Russian) with translation to English? And related question: should these papers lists be as full as possible? Seems a lot of Russian books on entomology are not in list. And I feel I can help there :-) Vmartyanov (talk) 09:52, 30 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Regarding your latter question, we generally only want taxonomic works.
As for the former, I have seen both styles used. You might reasonably ask again on Wikispecies:Village Pump, where more people will see the question. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 18:57, 30 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
