Welcome to Wikispecies!

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikispecies! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might like to see:

If you have named a taxon, then it is likely that there is (or will be) a Wikispecies page about you, and other pages about your published papers. Please see our advice and guidance for taxon authors.

If you have useful images to contribute to Wikispecies, please upload them at Wikimedia Commons. This is also true for video or audio files containing bird songs, whale vocalization, etc.

Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your username (if you're logged in) and the date. Please also read the Wikispecies policy What Wikispecies is not. If you need help, ask me on my talk page, or in the Village Pump. Alopecion template

[edit]

Hello Tiutenko! I saw that you recently created the {{Alopecion}} template. Unfortunately, the format of the template is a bit off. Could you please tell me the parent taxon of the Alopecion genus, so that I can finalize the template according to Wikispecies standard?

Also, the Lamprophis erlangeri page is a bit of a mess, since it now says that the taxon name of Lamprophis erlangeri is Bofa erlangeri, which of course is incorrect (one taxon name can't have another taxon name as well…) It isn't enough to simply change the taxon names in the Taxonavigation section, as you did. Instead, the whole page needs to be renamed and moved, so that the name of the page (in this case "Lamprophis erlangeri") equals the taxon name (Bofa erlangeri). Could you please tell me the parent taxon of Bofa as well? In that case I will be happy to take care of all necessary page moves.

Thank you for your contributions! Best regards, Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 16:04, 17 November 2022 (UTC).Reply

Oh! I am sorry for these troubles! I haven't edited templates before and have not experience. The genus Bofa (urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:56A821C4-89E5-4656-8C34-C5DD71BF6114) is in subfamily Lamprophiinae (tribe Boaedontini) in the family Lamprophiidae. The same applies to Alopecion that has been resurrected from synonymy of Lamprophis. Tiutenko (talk) 16:13, 17 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks – and no problem: it takes time to learn for all of us! :-) I have quite a lot of more urgent admin-stuff to take care of on other Wikimedia sister projects right now, but I'll fix the Lamprophiinae-related Wikispecies pages and templates in a couple of hours.
