Welcome to Wikispecies![edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikispecies! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might like to see:

If you have named a taxon, then it is likely that there is (or will be) a Wikispecies page about you, and other pages about your published papers. Please see our advice and guidance for taxon authors.

If you have useful images to contribute to Wikispecies, please upload them at Wikimedia Commons. This is also true for video or audio files containing bird songs, whale vocalization, etc.

Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your username (if you're logged in) and the date. Please also read the Wikispecies policy What Wikispecies is not. If you need help, ask me on my talk page, or in the Village Pump. Again, welcome! -- Estopedist1 (talk) 05:53, 18 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Easifying categorization[edit]

Good work with categories! Also notice, that we have an excellent gadget called HotCat to categorize articles much easier. To find it, see Preferences --> Gadgets --> HotCat.--Estopedist1 (talk) 05:53, 18 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your messages and info. I'll try to learn Gomphide (talk) 17:20, 18 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Reference template boilerplate[edit]

You can use {{Subst:reftemp}} on reference pages; it will Substitute the correct code. See {{Reftemp}} for guidelines. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 18:48, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I'll try to understand and use it, thank you Andy! Gomphide (talk) 00:43, 1 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Gomphide! We currently have a few problems with one of the modules that are included in some of our templates. As a result it may be that you only see a red "Lua error in Module…" error note if you go to the {{Reftemp}} template page, instead of any real help. I think this issue will be fixed within the next few days, however until then please instead use the Template:Reftemp/doc help page for {{subst:Reftemp}} guidelines.
