|g is not necessary; it is possible to pull the gender from Wikidata, which will make the template render correctly in every article, immediately. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 15:42, 3 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Pigsonthewing: what is the situation? It would be nice, if we can continue without using this confusing structure. The fewer infonoise the better--Estopedist1 (talk) 18:44, 31 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Invalid diacritic "’"?[edit]

[talk from Timothy D. O’Hara ]

probably invalid diacritic. For WS correct should be Timothy D. O'Hara--Estopedist1 (talk) 08:56, 18 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

While you are right, you need to watch out for {{Taxa authored 2}} since it turns out that {{BASEPAGENAME}} doesn't work properly with apostrophes for some reason (see the "{{Taxa authored 2}} not behaving well" discussion in Wikispecies:Village Pump/Archive 53; I can't actually work out how to link it directly because of the template name in the title) Monster Iestyn (talk) 20:37, 19 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Hector Bottai, Monster Iestyn, and Mariusm: any further thoughts how to get rid of the symbol " ’ "? Can we substitute {{BASEPAGENAME}} to eg {{subst:PAGENAME}}?--Estopedist1 (talk) 05:04, 20 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
