Where did you get the information that Ronald Boender is German? https://www.butterflyworld.com/our-story/ says Born of Dutch immigrants, Ronald Boender grew up in Illinois and had always had a fascination with butterflies, beginning with the cabbage whites, black swallowtails and silk moths he found while growing up on his father’s farm.

There is not any clue that he is German. Citrina (talk) 22:43, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Another user seems to have based the "German" nationality on his entry in IPNI, which states "Countries: Germany". Unfortunately I have no idea where IPNI themselves got this information from, except possibly Index Kewensis (IK). Sounds like IPNI is probably wrong here then, unless somehow there are two Ronald Boenders involved? Monster Iestyn (talk) 02:36, 5 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Also, the Wikispecies page currently only states Boender as botanist, not mentioning entomology neither in the article nor among the categories. I guess that should be changed as well? –Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 01:08, 6 February 2022 (UTC).[reply]
