Edit war[edit]

Why not just redirect to the taxon authority with a hatnote for disambiguation? PiRSquared17 (talk) 23:40, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It would probably escalate into an edit war if I was a complete newbie! I changed it because I'm trying to fix a few species-related galleries at Commons and whilst linking a pic of a fox to Vulpes I just thought of looking at this page and it didn't make sense that it redirects to a person page. I'm just curious about why Vulpes wouldn't be the primary target but Dan has given an explanation on his talkpage, so I'm happy to go along with any consensus because I'm barely active here. Cheers. @Green Giant and PiRSquared17:, Contrary to Wikipedia, Wikispecies seldom use titles for files with common names, mostly, or always, the scientific names are used. There are no recirects from dog, cow and wolf to species articles. Please see those files, and you will see that they are all deleted, except wolf which redirects to a zoologist.
