- Type: on drift Cladophora crystallina Rhizoclonium Kerneri
- Epitype (designated by Darienko et al., 2021): strain CCMP 258 cryopreserved in metabolically inactive state at the Bigelow National Center for Marine Algae and Microbiota, East Boothbay, Maine, USA.
