• Holotype: BMNH 2008.5.2.3, collected by Patrick L. Colin on 19 November 1997.
• Type locality: “Tonga, Tongatapu, outer reef north of Atata Island, north side, Pacific Ocean, 21º 02’03”S 175º 16’32”W, 24 m”.
