Name[edit]

Holotype: USNM 77035, adult ♀, skin and skull.

Type locality: “Calel, Totonicapan [sic], Guatemala (alt., 10200 ft. = 3100 meters).”

  • Sorex saussurei salvini: Jackson, 1928: 159 [name combination, reduced to subspecies]
  • Sorex salvini: Woodman et al., 2012: 214 [name combination, restaured to species]
