- Type locality: Thailand, Prachuap Khiri Khan province, Ban Saphan district, Rubber plantation, 11° 19.12 ’ N 99° 24.422’ E, 105 m.
- Holotype: ♂; 2009-04-16; CUMNH.
- Paratypes: 4 ♂, 29 ♀.
- Eponymy: in honour of Edward Shearman Ross.
