Holotype: AM J24107, collected by P.A. Hutchings and L.C. Rose on 7 March 1992.

Type locality: “N New South Wales, 50 m west of Split Solitary I, 30°14'S 153°10'48"E, 15 m, stn NSW 677”.

Etymology: named after Pat A. Hutchings.
