• Holotype: BMNH 94.11.16.134–135 (slides), collected by H.M.S. Challenger Expedition on 17 October 1873.
• Type locality: “Station 135c, Tristan da Cunha; lat. 37°25'30" S., long. 12°28'30" W.; depth, 110 fathoms”.
