- Type locality: Lake Sagami, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan.
- Holotype: Hisayoshi Nozaki; June 2000; Water sample; National Science Museum (Tsukuba, Ibaraki, Japan; TNS-AL 161061. Resin-embedded material of 2000-602-P15. The culture has been deposited as NIES- 1363 in the Microbial Culture Collection at the National Insitute for Environmental Studies.
