• Holotype: GQM 312880, collected by J.N.A. Hooper on 12 December 1996.
• Type locality: “Papua New Guinea: Motupore Island: Round Hill Barrier Reef, south-east of Motupore Island, 9º57.1′S–147º28′9E, 39 m depth”.
