• Typus: H.J.E. Schlieben 5593 ([9–10 November 1934]; holotypus: B {10 0160692^(JSTOR), 10 0160693^(JSTOR)}; isotypi: BM [​BM000903448^(JSTOR)], BR [​BR0000008850874^(JSTOR)], HBG [​HBG521312], K [​K000287308], M [​M0106288], P [​P03916459, without type indication apart from a slip "Seen for 'Flora of Tropical East Africa'"]).
• Type locality: Tanganyika[Tanzania]. District Lindi: Lake Lutamba, 40 km west of Lindi, alt. 240 m, in light forest.
