- Holotype: GSDC XY.05.1, partial skull with the last molars (M3).
- Type locality: “Xylophágou, SE Cyprus, 34.9656°N, 33.8250°E (WGS84 datum)”.
- Stratigraphy: Fanglomerate Group F3 Unit of the Circum-Tróodos Sedimentary Succession (MIS 7, late Middle Pleistocene).
