• Type locality: Tekoa, Southern Alps at Bealey, New Zealand.
• Holotype: Flint & Ettl (1966), fig. 2.
• Epitype: authentic strain SAG 12.72 (cryopreserved in Culture Coll. of Algae, Göttingen Univ.) (Barcytë & al. 2019: 215, 217).
