Ornithogalum dictaeum Landström, Sp. Ornithogalum Greece: 5. 1989, nom. provis.

  • Typus: Greece: Lasithi, Mirabello, 4 km W of Katharon, 1300 m, 27 v 1976, Thomas Landström 3097 (Holotypus: LD; isotypes: ATH, G, K).

Note: Name not considered as valid by author (IPNI, 2020), despite the protologue being published in a doctoral thesis, therefore regarded as an unplaced provisional combination by WCSP. Regarded as validly published in a review of the thesis by Greuter, OPTIMA Newsletter 25–29: (15). 1991 [1]. Accepted, among others, by Dimopoulos et al, 2013, as well as Strid in Raab-Straube & Raus (2017: 295–296). However, an internally published thesis is not considered an effective publication under ICN (2018) Art. 6 and Art. 29, as it is not easily accessible to the public, either online (post 2012) or through deposit libraries.
