Mussaenda chippii Wernham, J. Bot. 51: 237 (1913); as 'M. Chippii'

• Typus: T.F. Chipp 323 (holotypus: K [cf. K000042812^(JSTOR), collected on 26 August 1912, without type indication apart from a determination slip left by H.F. Wernham on 13 June 1913]).
• Type locality: Gold Coast[Ghana]. Amokokrom, W. Apollonia, in tall evergreen forest.
