      • Type locality: Poland: Czarwiony near Nowy Targ, in peat bog.
      • Holotype: Fig. 105: 1 in Hindak 1980. Iconotype: 22: 6 (Index Nominum Algarum).
      • Epitype (designated by Bock et al. 2011: 642): Cryopreserved material of the authentic strain CCAP 222/ 93, deposited at the Culture Collection of Algae and Protozoa, Oban Scotland.
