- Holotype: FMNH 173067, body in alcohol with skull removed, collected by Scott G. Cardiff and Vola Razakarivony on 8 April 2002.
- Type locality: “Madagascar: Province d'Antsiranana, Réserve Spéciale d'Ankarana, Canyon d'Antsiroandoa Center, 6.2 km NW Mahamasina, 12°55.1'S, 49°07.6'E, at about 120 m above sea level”.
